Handmade projector slides workshop (bilingual) / Atelier de diapositives fait main (bilingue)
Sunday, June 19th @ 2pm

You will learn basic techniques to make slides out of garbage film material, tape, ink, or whatever you can grab.
Screening of everybody’s work at the end of the workshop ! Vous allez apprendre les techniques de base pour faire des diapositves à partir de vieux films trouvés, de tape, d’encre, et plein d’autres choses. Projection des travaux réalisés à la fin de l’atelier !
Bring any old slide or film or transparent whatever you found in the garbage and you would like to use. Please let us know if you have no idea how to find these kind of stuff in the garbage, so that we can plan to have some for you.
Apportez n’importe quel matériel que vous pourrez trouver pour confectionner les diapositives comme des vieux films trouvés dans la poubelle. Laissez nous savoir si vous n’avez aucun moyen d’apporter ce type de matériel afin que l’on puisse prévoir d’en avoir pour vous.

Basic screenprinting for everyone! Learn how to prepare your image, coat and burn screens and print on paper and fabric! A must for anyone interested in using our screenprinting studio ever.

Darkroom Black & White Photograph Developing

Sunday, June 26th @ 2pm
Learn basic Black and White photo developing in our fully equiped and under-appreciated darkroom!  Bring a black and white negative if you have some.

Screenprinting 201
Sunday, July 24th @ 1-4pm

A more advanced screenprinting workshop with veteran sidetracks member Marc.  In this workshop we will learn multiple layer registration (for prints with multiple colours), advanced image preparation, colour fades, custom colour mixing and advanced trouble-shooting. For folks who have previous screenprinting experience or have attended the 101 workshop already.

Sidetracks Screenprinting Team General Meeting
Wednesday, August 2nd, 2011 @ 6:30-8:30pm
Sidetracks is our super-star screenprinting team.  Sidetracks volunteers work together to train each other in screenprinting, run Saturday Open Studios and maintain our screenprinting studio.  Sidetracks volunteers work with community projects and organizations on small printing projects to support their work – things like posters, t-shirts and zine covers, all on a sliding-scale, pay-what-you-can basis.
